I came across this " !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! " on Yahoo! this morning that shows pictures of Detroit's rapid decline. The pictures are stunning so I thought I'd share some of them with you. Take a look if you have time. Of course you have time, you're browsing Oppo!

The pictures were taken on Google Maps in 2009, 2011 and then again in 2013. The differences are truly hard to believe but also extremely fascinating.

Thanks for sharing. I really want to move to Detroit and buy a square block. Hopefully the city services are bad enough that they don't salt the roads.

Who says theres no jobs in Detroit? Looks like they need plenty of heavy equipment operators. They still have lots of structures to demolish.

As a midtowner this is so weird to me. Midtown and downtown are at their best (since like the 60's) from what I understand. But the vast amount of Detroit is the west and east side …. and its like this everywhere in those parts of towns.
But thats not where people and business' are moving to. Everyone knows Detroit is massive and imo it just seems like the city is finally condensing to a size it can handle.

Wow. It's like an apocalyptic event. Four years from some sort of normality to deserted back to nature utopia.

The good thing about a lot of these pictures is that they are a series of photo's of houses being actually taken away and letting nature take back over. In contrast to the many areas where houses/structures are simply allowed to fall apart.
